The problem
Appointments taken by phone and message lead to double bookings and missed visits. Randevu is a sample flow where customers pick a suitable time themselves.
My contribution
Booking flow, calendar logic, notification service, and the admin screen.
How I built it
- Interface
- A three-step booking form that shows time zones correctly and works comfortably on mobile.
- API and server
- A booking endpoint that prevents concurrent requests for the same slot with a database constraint.
- Data layer
- A background job that sends reminder emails from a queue and retries failed deliveries.
Outcome and takeaways
In this sample, the hardest part was not the calendar but the edge cases: cancellations, time zones, and last-minute changes.
